Improving Blue InGaN Laser Diodes Performance with Waveguide Structure Engineering
To enhance lasers’ power and improve their performance, a model wasapplied for the waveguide design of 400 nm InGaN/InGaN semiconductor laser, whichis much easier to implement. The conventional and new laser structures weretheoretically investigated using simulation software PICS3D, which self-consistentlycombines 3D simulation of carrier transport, self-heating, and opt...
متن کاملPrinted Inorganic Light Emitting Diodes for Solid State Lighting
In this paper we present a new form of inorganic printed electronics (PE) that overcomes many of the problems associated with the act of printing electronics. The technique allows for very high speed, inexpensive production of PE products. To illustrate this approach we will describe a solid state lighting (SSL) device based upon a standard InGaN heteroepitaxy and fabricated as micro LEDs dispe...
متن کاملHigh-Power Pure Blue InGaN Laser Diodes
We fabricated high-power pure blue laser diodes (LDs) by using GaN-based material for full-color laser display. The operating output power, voltage and wall-plug efficiency of the LDs at forward current of 1.0 A were 1.17 W, 4.81 V and 24.3%, respectively. The estimated lifetime of the LDs was over 30,000 hours under continuous-wave operation. key words: InGaN, GaN, high-power laser, blue LD
متن کاملUltrafast Laser Patterning of OLEDs on Flexible Substrate for Solid-state Lighting
Rapid developments in the organic LED technology on flexible foils promise to deliver thin, lightweight and power-efficient light sources for intelligent lighting applications. Laser patterning of OLEDs on glass for display applications has been widely reported. However, fewer reports discuss patterning of OLEDs on flexible substrates, which presents a novel optical engineering challenge. Our a...
متن کاملMaterials for Solid State Lighting
Dramatic improvement in the efficiency of inorganic and organic light emitting diodes (LEDs and OLEDs) within the last decade has made these devices viable future energy efficient replacements for current light sources. However, both technologies must overcome major technical barriers, requiring significant advances in material science, before this goal can be achieved. Attention will be given ...
